Chewing gum – the facts!
Chewing gum stuck to pavements and roads is difficult and costly to remove because it requires specialist cleaning
Chewing gum does not decompose and builds up on our pavements
3.5 billion pieces of gum are chewed every year
The worst instances of chewing gum on pavements can often be found near takeaways, pubs, clubs and shopping centres
It costs up to £1.50 a square metre to remove chewing gum
24% of the male population and 27% of women buy chewing gum twice a week or more


Poster examples for the campaign and how it could be applied. The campaign is aimed at the 18 - 25 student demographic. The posters would therefore be positioned around student areas and campus.
